Keuhl’s class has a lot to celebrate, but one of them is marking a milestone event for the college.
Living differently than others, he is unfortunately all too often told he can’t go far.
During the college’s 51-year history, Kuehl is the first graduate with Down syndrome.
Kuehl thanked all those who had contributed to his journey in a recorded speech.
It was his parents who supported him all the way, as well as those who “gave him the tools” to succeed.
Many people told him he wasn’t ready for college, he shared.
“I am the first person with down syndrome to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Washington.” »
