An ex-boyfriend has been arrested in the killing of a woman who was shot in the head at point-blank range as she pushed her baby in a stroller in New York City, police said Friday.
Azsia Johnson, 20, was shot in the head around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, in a targeted killing that the city's mayor called horrific.
On Friday police arrested Isaac Argro, 22, who is charged with murder and criminal possession of weapon, the city’s police commissioner, Keechant Sewell, announced.
Argro, of Brooklyn, is Johnson's ex-boyfriend and the father of the baby in the stroller, a spokesman for the New York City Police Department said.
The 3-month-old baby was not harmed in the incident, officials have said.
It was not immediately clear if Argro had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
Police have said that a gunman dressed in a black sweatshirt and black pants approached the Johnson as she pushed the stroller on East 95th Street and shot her once in the head at close range, and fled on foot.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Friday said in a statement after the arrest said that “All New Yorkers stand with the Johnson family in this difficult time.”

There was a user in the other thread who made the "mistake" of saying there's a "100% chance the mother knew the victim killer" and had to change it to "99%" because yes, obviously there's the slimmest chance that some random nutjob did it. So he got a bunch of angry comments telling him as much. Including one genius saying "you sound naive as shit". /u/RealMainer you were right. (Though this is the part where those same Redditors say the guy was only arrested and "there's a 50% chance he's innocent").

Killer was a real brainiac. Woman was on her way to meet him that night to talk things out. He’s an ex-boyfriend who had current strife with her and had shoved or hit her in the past. This guy is like #1 person of interest just by default.
Yet somehow murders his ex on the street and thinks he’s going to escape suspicion and get away with it. A real fucking genius.
