NEW YORK (WLS) -- Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger said he's received a death threat for participating in the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.He posted the letter on Twitter and spoke about it on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

"Kinzinger, a Republican from Channahon, said the threat was mailed to his house a couple days ago.

It threatens to execute me as well as my wife and 5-month-old child," he said.

I don't worry, but now that I have a wife and kids it's a little different.

And until we get a grip on telling people the truth, we can't expect any differently. »

Spontaneous celebrations broke out in Medellin after it became evident that Colombia’s increasingly authoritarian President Ivan Duque will be succeeded by a progressive president.

The reforms for a "New Kazakhstan" has come from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev — Nazarbayev's hand-picked successor — in the wake of violence earlier this year.

Nurlan Abdirov, chair of the national electoral commission, said 77.17% of voters had backed the move, while 18.66% voted against.

Rules stipulated that at least half of registered voters had to take part in the plebiscite for it to be considered valid. »
