Since the last year, Sony has been working tirelessly to bring as many games from their partner studios as possible. Recently we got the word that Sony is working with multiple Studios to provide various games, and one of the names included in the list was Firesprite.

We finally have a complete list of all the rumored games confirmed to be in development by Firesprite for PlayStation Studios. This list is based on job listings and announcements by Sony itself. A total of 6 games are reportedly in development, out of which 4 are confirmed and 2 are rumored. The list of confirmed games includes:

Unannounced Horror AAA first-person Sci-fi Title in collaboration with Fabrik Games.

New IP – AAA PvP Action Shooter GAAS in UE 5

Out of these games we already have a teaser trailer for Horizon: Call of the mountain, which was released back in January. Matt White, game director at Fabrik games, updated his LinkedIn profile to say that he is currently directing a horror Sci-fi for PlayStation Studios. We already know that they are indeed working with Firesprite. The studio acquired Fabrik games a few months ago.

Peter Ellis, associate game director at Firesprite, is currently working on the narrative adventure game. He also previously worked for Naughty Dog and was involved in The Last of Us 2, so we can expect something great from this game.

There have been rumors of a Firesprite AAA action game for quite some time now. Thanks to a job posting by Firesprite, it has been confirmed that they are indeed working on a multiplayer PvP action game, and it will be based on the Unreal Engine 5.

As for the games that have been rumored, they both are big names in the industry:

Twisted Metal was confirmed by Jeff Grub late in 2021, when he announced that the game is in active development by Lucid Games. However, following accusations that Lucid Games, the UK company behind Destruction All-Stars, was no longer working on a new Twisted Metal game for Sony, a new source claims it’s now being handled by a first-party PlayStation studio Firesprite Games, who just hired the director of MotorStorm.

As for Wipeout VR, a well-known leaker and insider, Another LED claimed that Firesprite is working on a VR version of Wipeout. It makes sense, too, because Sony has acquired Firesprite, and they were the ex-developers of the Wipeout game.

If all the claimed reports are accurate, then it looks like Firesprite will have a very busy schedule until all the games are launched. Horizon call of the mountain is already near its launch, and with all other AAA games also in development, we are indeed excited to see what Sony and Firesprite have in stores for us.

I know they'd never do it, but the child in me reeeeally hopes there's some callbacks to 3 and 4. Those were the ones my dad had.

Edit: I see how that last part can be confusing so I'd just like to add he's alive and well. I just love my dad.

Other games after twisted metal tried to take up the mantle and it just didn’t hit the same. I can honestly see this catching on like wildfire if it’s done correctly and they utilize a battle Royale format.
