Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster May Get Revealed At State Of Play

The often rumored Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster may be getting revealed at PlayStation’s upcoming State of Play game showcase on June 2, based on a new rumor. According to the Chris Klippel, editor at Jeux Vidéo, Rockstar is gearing up to make an announcement at State of Play, and a trailer has also been prepared.

The trailer is said to be for a “new project” that has yet to be revealed. Klippel mentioned that many have been quick to assume that the announcement is in relation to a brand new IP. However, he further reminded everyone that the announcement and trailer may well be for the current-gen version of RDR2.

Klippel clarified that he only knows for sure that an Rockstar is set to make an announcement during State of Play on June 2. However, he has no idea what the announcement is about, or when the game in question is getting released. He’s only aware of things “moving” on Rockstar’s side, which could mean anything, really. Though, with previous rumors also hinting at a Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster, it’s possible that this could be the announcement Rockstar is planning on making during State of Play.

Given the existence of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports of GTAV, it’s only a matter of time before Red Dead Redemption 2 receives similar treatment from Rockstar via a remaster. It would be interesting to see what kind of new features come with this current-gen port, but if one were to guess, a 60fps Performance mode, faster loading and ray traced shadows are likely to be among them.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game released in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, and later on PC. The game is a precursor to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption and the third installment in the Red Dead series. The novel takes place in 1899 and follows bandit Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, across a fictitious version of the Western, Midwestern, and Southern United States. Arthur must contend with the Wild West’s fall while fighting to survive against government authorities, competing gangs, and other foes.
