I have never understood how in the modern world the federal politicians get so much fucking time off.

Don’t forget the four children of the teacher whose husband died of a heart attack.

They started this week with both parents and ended it as orphans.

My older brother is in his 30s and has mental health issues. He is on the spectrum and is on and off suicidal. He has tried suicide by cop. He's tried swallowing pills. He has tried walking in traffic. Hes tried jumping off a bridge.

What has been done for him? When he was brought into a mental institution, he was deemed sane and released next day with no vehicle, wallet, phone, or ride. Just discharged him and dropped him on the street. When he admitted himself, and said he was afraid he was going to try again if he was alone, he was told he was wasting state resources and holding them hostage with his hypothetical actions before again being discharged.

After he swallowed the pills his counsellor of many years said that he didnt think he could help him, and dropped him because my brothers attempted suicide looked bad on them. No one in the company that counsellor came from will work with him anymore.

Two weeks ago he admitted himself for a weekend because his roomate was out of town and he was afraid of being alone. They asked him if he wanted a sedative. He said no thank you. They said that means you will need to have a roomate and be 1 on 1 so someone will have to be with you everywhere. He said thats fine. A nurse approached him later and says "so I heard you refused your meds?" He says no, I do not have a prescription and I was offered the choice of a sedative, which I declined. She said, 'same thing.' Then proceeded to have members of staff hold him down and shoot him with a sedative. Which he has high drug tolerance so it had no effect. So they shot him up again. That one did little as well so they locked him in a room alone. He wanted to stay the weekend? They didnt let him have any outside contact or let him know of any messages that came in from him (his roomate, our mother) and didnt release him until the following weekend.

This is someone LOOKING for help, and the treatment he receives in New York state. He can drive. He can buy a gun.
