Now players can find out how long the ambitious Atomic Heart shooter has actually been in development. As stated in the Mundfish studio, the creation of the project took more 630 thousand hours. As a nice bonus, the developers have also published a new screenshot of Atomic Heart with a demonstration of the main character.

Representatives of the Mundfish team on social networks revealed that they have been working on Atomic Heart for five years. More than 120 professional employees take part in the creation of the shooter, who worked on the project for 8-16 hours a day. In total, Atomic Heart created as many as 633,600 hours.

There is only one conclusion left. Games are art!

Atomic Heart is being created for PC and current consoles. The release of the shooter is scheduled for December 2022.

600k = 40 hours per week * number of employees * weeks of development. If we assume a 3 year development time, that’s 156 weeks, times 40, gives us 6240 hours per employee. Divide our 600k by that number and you get a whopping 96 employees.

So to summarize , 600k total hours means about 96 employees worked 40 hour weeks for 3 years to make this game

So an average amount of work has gone into the game. Good to know.

These reports are always designed to "impress" but it really just comes across as either non important or dangerously incompetent managerial skills. Reminds me when Rockstar tried to brag about 100 hour work weeks.
