The Bhim Vilas is one of the most eye catching corners of the City Palace of Udaipur. It’s one of several royal apartments, and it’s blue walls are thought to mimic the cool of the monsoon rains, which in this arid corner of the world are nothing short of godsends. The palace itself is India’s largest and most elaborate, and is particularly noted for its dreamy lakeside location.
