I took this photo a couple of days ago, on the first night of midnight sun season here in Longyearbyen, Norway. The sun doesn’t set, but it goes very low in the sky, so we still have a few days of sunset colors around midnight, and this view of the church benefited from that, I think. If you look closely at the tower, you see some smoke, adding to the church-on-fire mood. It’s actually smoke from the chimney of a power plant hidden behind the church. The air looks a bit grainy, because it’s actually a light snowfall going on. I’m very happy with this photo, but I’d like to hear if anyone has ideas for things I could have changed. Thanks.
