I think you actually have a small fossil Megalodon front tooth. The serrations are more finely spaced than the more jagged serrations you would find in a fossil great white tooth, and a great white tooth would typically be thinner. I think the root of the tooth has eroded away a bit due to wavd action. Either way, very nice find!

Lots of those surfacing lately due to some dredging on Ocean isle and Holden beaches (beach renourishment projects). Lots of cool stuff getting uncovered and pushed up to nearby beaches.
