Taken with Canon EOS 70D with a 70-300mm lens. Settings are 300mm, ƒ/16.0, and 1/200. On the editing side, only slight adjustment to contrast and saturation along with a crop to center the line between the ice and water.

A minimalist view of Finnish spring, illustrated by a melting lake. Clear skies provided a nice blue color on the slightly wavy, almost velvet like water surface, with the waves being caused by other ice sheets and a mild breeze. The ice is quite thin as well which helps bring some variation to just a clean, white ice sheet since the dark water is showing through a bit , but at the same time the various marks and small ridges on the ice give some highlights to it as well.

I feel like it's a tad over exposed on the ice side, but it kind of grew on me since the contrast with the water is so good, at least in my opinion.

As a thumbnail this looked more like a textile than anything. Very cool!
