Context:

That's my guide in the picture. I took this shot with an iPhone as I am not a pro photographer by any means and only had one hand free anyway.

Right when this was taken (not far from Gouter Hut) a big burst of wind was hurtling over the crest of snow in front of us and made the whole atmosphere pretty epic for a few minutes. Coupled with the high avalanche risk that day, it was pretty intense.

But this photo really was luck because photos I took immediately before and after this ended up looking completely terrible and not cool at all somehow.

We did end up summiting just an hour or two later in perfect conditions.

EDIT: A bunch of people have asked to see the original, so here it is: https://imgur.com/a/AR6reeS No it's not much different because a) I only used Google Photos and b) I don't know now/didn't know back then how to do more than move like 3 sliders a bit on GPhotos (contrast etc.). It's why most of my other photos from this climb don't look like much and I just needed to get lucky with this one to end up with a super cool one.

EDIT 2: At the advice of several folks, I turned this into an NFT. Thanks everyone
