This is fantastic! I just read a book with a hilarious line about David Bowie - it's a sci fi series in the distant future where the main character's grandmother would tell her stories of old Earth:
Children in the future were going to insist my adventures were too outlandish - and therefore I wasn't an actual historical person, but one that was obviously made up, like Gilgamesh or David Bowie.
