It was taken at a Victory Parade on May 9, 2007, on the Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, Russia,‟ he revealed.
He also explained why the veteran appears so upset in the photo and his hopes about tracking him down.
”The veteran was upset that he was behind the column with other veterans and couldn’t catch up with them,‟ he said.
”Now I'm looking for this veteran. I hope that I'll find him and find out his name.‟
Also quite funny is the fact that many posted this picture praising American, British, Australian army etc. when in reality this is a Soviet veteran.
And judging by the fact that this was taken in 2007 and that men don't live very long in Russia, I'm guessing this man has already passed. Though kind of hopeful he hasn't and lives a good life.

Why is this picture always posted with this false story?
He's sad because the rest of the column is ahead of him and he couldn't keep up. He's not the last of his unit.
Still really sad, but a little less so.
