The more I learn about it, the more I've come to understand that the show has very little to do with the real Peaky Blinders, or real history in general.
The show is good, but bears little resemblance to the real street gang other than the name. It also moves the time frame to post WWI, so you could I guess call it an alternative history were they were not taken over and continued operating.
