I had a sibling die in a house fire as a baby. This picture made me both deeply sad, and also so incredibly happy for that family. That sort of tragedy leaves emotional scars that never heal no matter how much therapy or support or time you give yourself. Not really sure why I'm saying this, I'm just so grateful that the baby was saved and am having a difficult time articulating how much it's going to mean to its loved ones. Amazing photo.

19 people died in this fire, 9 of them kids. 37 to hospital with life threatening smoke inhalation. 5 alarm fire. Worst in 30 years for FDNY.
