I love these kind of Christmas decorations. My Grandpa had similar ones made out of plywood for Santa, Rudolf, and all the reindeer. As I remember it correctly Popular Mechanics or some publication back in the 50s or 60s had plans that you could order and they would mail to you. They were cutting templates and painting guides. He and my uncles built them together and they were the hit of the neighborhood back then. He continued to display them on his roof until about 2010 when he passed away.
