Have you looked into digitizing it?

I recently came across a cassette I recorded in 1981 on a vacation trip to visit extended family. I was 12 and fascinated with my new "portable" recorder and wanted to get some use out of it. The recording had grandparents, aunts, and uncles on it that are now long gone. They were noticeably annoyed at having a recorder constantly shoved in they faces but I wouldn't change a thing at this point. I digitized it and shared it with siblings. It's now a family treasure.

The only time my grandfather spoke about his wartime experience was when i interviewed him for a middle school project. HOLY SHIT I WAS NOT PREPARED.
