I was definitely aware. I have a high school senior. I couldn't imagine this happening to my son or our family. Absolutely heart breaking. These childrens family and friends will never be the same, they will never fully recover. Daily life will eventually drag them back into the day to day routine. But life as they knew it is over.
There is also a girl still fighting for her life in the hospital and it doesn’t look like she is going to make it realistically. I live in metro Detroit currently and this has just been a very hard week for the community. I’m pregnant with my first and I’m terrified of the world I’m bringing her into.

Completely and utterly unnecessary losses for these families. So very young. All that promise lost. Damn.
