A Black teenager was allegedly shocked with a Taser on Halloween night in Woodsboro by high school students dressed as members of the Ku Klux Klan, according to local attorney Matt Manning.
Manning, who has taken the teenage boy as his client, held a news conference in Corpus Christi on Wednesday morning.
The Woodsboro Police Department said it has opened an investigation into the incident and has acquired the help of the Texas Rangers from Sinton.
In a Facebook post Nov. 9, Woodsboro Superintendent Ronald D. Segers Jr. stated the event did not occur at a school or school-sponsored activity.
For that reason, Segers said in the statement, the district cannot punish the students involved. »
