I first came across this location in summer of 2020 during a short road trip. I loved the location so much I knew I was adding it to my annual winter road trip. While I’d also wanted to photograph it in autumn I had low hopes of that ever happening. Autumn is the one season I can’t take time off from work and I live on a completely different island in Japan from where this location is. Well I ended up leaving that job at the end of September and before leaving Japan permanently I decided to do a 3 month solo road trip to experience autumn in Honshu(main island) for the first time. This location was obviously high on my list and I was able to complete the project 2 days ago. While a small part of me would have liked to add spring, there wouldn’t have been such a stark difference in the photo. This is what spring would look like. Since I’m constantly on the road I can’t post many photo but I do try and upload short clips to my stories @journey_to_instagram if you want to see what Japan looks like in autumn.
