Make sure you zoom in to properly experience this!

Every lunar cycle, the moon passes near planets along the equatorial plane. Sometimes these "conjunctions" are close enough to capture both objects with a telescope, which is what you can see here. This conjunction of the moon and Venus was captured using a combination of telescopes at different focal lengths, so I could preserve the magic of the scene as the moon emerged from the cloud layers in extreme detail. This HDR final product was a labor of love, and my favorite conjunction image to date. This was captured from my backyard in Florence, AZ, where I recently moved to find better skies for stargazing.

NGL, I creeped on your profile. Saw this reply.

"I absolutely hate uglying up my images with watermarks. Image theft is a small price to pay to be able to share my work unmarked."

You are a noble man.
