In its first-half earnings report for the year, Ubisoft confirmed that it is delaying Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, The Division Heartland and Rocksmith+ to the next fiscal year. The earnings report reads:

"Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, Rocksmith+ and Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland will be released in 2022-23. While still expected in the current fiscal year, Roller Champions is no longer factored in the guidance."

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was previously delayed after its announcement in September last year. Tom Clancy's The Division: Heartland was announced earlier this year, targeting an initial release window of late 2021/early 2022. Now, both games will be releasing after April 2022. The more interesting delay is Rocksmith+, which will be a subscription service instead of being a one and done 'game'. These aren't the only games that will release in 2022, as Ubisoft has currently slated its long gestating Skull & Bones, Avatar and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope for the same fiscal year.

2022 is going to be somewhat of an off-year for many of Ubisoft's signature franchises like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, as the latest instalments of both of will be getting extra post-launch content throughout the year. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is set to receive extra expansions and support well into its second year, which is a first for the franchise, while Far Cry 6's post-launch support includes some exciting crossover with previous games in the franchise.

Haha remember last year when Ubisoft "leaked" or "discovered" a bunch of old Prince of Persia stuff to try and build hype for a new game? And we were all like, "Okay we get it, just announce the new game already," and then they did and we all immediately forgot about it?

Good times.

Didn't they delay it indefinitely last year?
