I grew up under strict religious rules as well.
I also trick or treated for the first time ever this year, and I'm 35.
Wife and I took our daughter (5) for her first time, and I asked one of the houses if I could participate as well.
She laughed and actually gave me candy lol, it made my day.
I felt like I regained a little of my childhood last night, felt good.
Glad you're getting to regain some as well!
