While Rockstar Games just announced GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a new rumor has surfaced stating that the studio is developing yet another revival, and that’s a Red Dead Redemption remaster!

This new rumor comes from French YouTube channel Rockstar Mag. It doesn’t specify which platforms would be getting this remaster, but the PS5, Xbox Series X|S are safe bets. Also of note, fans shouldn’t expect a remake of the game, but rather, a visual upgrade just like what Rockstar has shown with the GTA The Trilogy titles.

Check it out below, though bear in mind, the video is in French.

Same as withe very rumor, treat this with a grain of salt. That said, given how long it’s been since players have had the chance to play Red Dead Redemption, this wouldn’t be all that surprising if it comes to fruition. Also, given how big Red Dead Redemption 2 has been, this is a relatively easy way for Rockstar to cash in, while they’re busying developing the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, and Red Dead Redemption 3.

Red Dead Redemption was originally released back in 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and is a spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver.

All I ask for is a 60FPS boost for RDR2.

I would like this if they just made the RDR1 remaster a DLC on RDR2. New engine, same great experience, that continues the story right after the end of RDR2 with the map expanded into Mexico.
