My dad had a brain tumor in college that was caught late but also just in time. The left side of his face is paralyzed and he lost hearing on the same sides ear due to the surgery. My sisters and I wouldn't be around if he held off any longer on seeing a doctor, and going through the emergency surgery. I've always liked that he seems to have a perment, devious smirk.
You've overcome a substantial amount of physical and mental adversity. The world is going to be a better place because you survived. Every day is truly a gift, and because you made it through, every day you get to be a gift for the rest of the world.
