CD Projekt Red is planning to release The Witcher 3 Game of the Year for the PS5 and Xbox Series as evident from a rating by the PEGI.

While we already know about the PS5 and Xbox Series update for The Witcher 3, it was not announced when it will be out. Based on the PEGI rating, there is a good chance that this update will be released within this month. The game has been rated for both PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

Here’s what PEGI had to share regarding the content and rating description.

Brief outline of the game Game of the Year Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, compiling DLC content for the game and expansions: ‘Hearts of Stone’ and ‘Blood and Wine’. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, open world game, following Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer. The expansions take Geralt to No Man’s Land, lured by a bounty on a sewer monster, and the lands of Toussaint, where a dark secret lies beneath the beautiful exterior. Content-specific issues The game features frequent strong violence, occasional scenes of violence against vulnerable characters and frequent strong language. Geralt is able to dismember, decapitate, disembowel and bisect his enemies during gameplay combat. Notable scenes of strong violence include, but are not limited to, a raven burrowing into a man’s eye socket and bursting from the back of his shattered skull and a man’s face melting and sizzling after being struck by a fire spell. Violence against vulnerable and defenceless persons includes people being bound to and burnt at the stake, and a child being fed upon by a vampire. The word ‘fuck’ is used frequently and ‘cunt’ is used several times. Secondary issues/information Geralt is featured in sex scenes with several different women; the couples’ genitals are not visible during intercourse, though there are other moments of full nudity.

What’s The New Content In The Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition For PS5 and XSX

The Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition update will also add costume from The Witcher Netflix show and ray-tracing support for PC and current-generation consoles.

Ray-tracing support has been teased quite a while back. The game never officially supported ray-tracing either on consoles or on PC because it was released during a time when there was none. As for the new content, all we know is that there will be free DLC adding a costume from the Netflix version of The Witcher series.

It's pretty funny how much detail they go into in their content warnings now:

"The game features frequent strong violence, occasional scenes of violence against vulnerable characters and frequent strong language. The word ‘fuck’ is used frequently and ‘cunt’ is used several times."
