Fun fact:

If you look at the river to the left, the Allegheny, and count three bridges up, this is the location where Meriwether Lewis launched in 1803.

I’m surprised the Mon (the river on the right) is as clear as it is. Typically it’s brown because it is a mud-bottom river whereas the Allegheny (the river on the left) is more clear because it is a rock-bottom river.

With as brown at the Allegheny is in this photo, there must’ve been rains up north of the city and you’re getting a lot of sediment and run-off making it’s way down to the confluence.
