Any idea what happens to the degrees they’ve already handed out? They still valid?

Congratulations. First, it's terrible that you couldn't finish your degree, but, second, I am glad you got a refund. I'm a retired physics professor, and the local ITT campus asked me to come to teach for them part time, which I did. It was kind of unusual compared to a traditional public college, but I enjoyed it. They had a difficult time finding good teachers, and I had a great reputation. However, one of their students didn't like my style and told me. Fair enough. but I couldn't change my style for one student when I had 30 in each class. He was upset and told his mom, who then complained to the dean (who just began her job as a dean and never had been a dean before). I was called into a meeting with the dean about the mother's visit. I simply explained that the student was an adult (22 years old) and a parent's opinion is valid, but not relevant since the student wasn't a minor. Later, the ITT Director of the campus called me in to confront me about it, and I said, "Hey, you called me. I don't care. I do a great job, but you are clueless on how to run a college. Here are my keys. Bye." Then I tossed my keys on the man's desk, and got up to walk away. He stopped me, became apologetic and conciliatory and asked me to stay. That was the end of that. I did tell him that if ITT were to run a school like they were doing, they'd soon go out of business. Guess what? They went out of business. I'm still retired and enjoying life, after 45 years of teaching college.
