I’ll answer some questions I know I’ll probably get.

My mother basically spent the her family’s trust fund within her lifetime and had a lot of mental health issues, plus substance issues. Hence, why the car is a relatively recent car.

We were living beyond our means, and crash coursed into having nothing except our car and a bag of clothes.

I had a phone from before I had become homeless. Didn’t have service, but that’s how we could take pictures. I also would go to Internet cafes a lot, so I was terminally online like most teenagers.

Especially, since my mom stripped at night, and would kind of just abandon me at times, I had a lot of time online. A LOT of time. Too much time.

You may say, I didn’t look homeless. We went to a laundromat to wash our clothes, or washed them at public parks/beaches when we couldn’t afford that. We also bathed at said public parks/beaches. I had makeup (as you see).

I was a teenaged girl and was probably just as vain as any other teenaged girl would be.

I’ll also add, I was “homeschooled” after 6th grade.

When I was taken away by CPS before my 18th birthday, I faked it through my senior year to be able to at least get my high school diploma.

I’ve always been a bit of a weirdo about some subjects, so that kind of saved my grade.

To be honest, I probably have the education level of a middle school child. I can’t afford college, and even if I were able to I don’t think I’d be able to get into college.

I don’t know math other than addition, multiplication, subtraction, the basic things etc. Also, I know nothing about physics.

Also, here are some pictures from around that time. The ones from afar are taken by my mother.

Edit: Grammar :)

My dear.

I’m a former university professor — I taught at a rich, elite university and a big non-elite public urban university —

And you absolutely have what it would take to succeed at college.

I see two routes: the first is community college, where the classes are smaller and the emphasis is on teaching. You would be with lots of other people who’ve come from all sorts of backgrounds.

But also, a small private elite college might really be interested in you, and would have the money and resources to help you catch up and succeed.

What colleges are you near? Can you go talk to admissions officers? Remember that that’s their job: to find interesting students who bring different life experiences to the school, and to give money to students who need it.

DM me if I can help; if you tell me where you are, I can identify schools and admissions officers and make the appointments if you like.
