These images were captured using amateur telescopes from my backyard (most from Sacramento, but a couple from Florence, AZ where I recently moved). The telescopes used were an EdgeHD800, an AR127 (modified to work for the sun) and a Skywatcher 12" Newtonian. Each image represents my best effort in the past year in capturing that target.

Uranus and Neptune are VERY processed. Each planet is only a handful of pixels wide, so to display them like this I basically expanded them about 100x, then applied smoothing to the surfaces (that was all pixelated) and distortion corresponding with where the planet's pole was when I shot it. So a lot of artistic license was used, but as a representation it works. Uranus' rings were added digitally, as no amateur gear is capable of capturing them from Earth.

This is the first time in all of this that I've actually felt bad for pluto.
