Minimum-wage workers in Florida will receive a small pay increase with the start of the new year.
The state's minimum wage will increase from since 2020,
$8.46 to $8.56 an hour on Jan. 1, with a minimum wage of at least $5.54 an hour for tipped employees, according to the state Department of Economic Opportunity.
I graduated 2009 and while anecdotal, rent is what has fucked so many people. Like when I was 18 on my own getting minimum wage, I could afford a fairly ok place for 600, wouldn't be considered luxury, but was affordable and had everything I needed. No that same place is 1200. Raise the minimum wage.
