Can someone who knows something about forest fire explain why only the bottom few feet are wrapped? Wouldn't they want to go up 10-20 feet? You'd think the tallest tree in Redwood NF would be worth a few hundred dollars in foil.

Saw General Sherman right before the pandemic started. The pics absolutely do not do it justice. It’s a big fucking tree.
