That's awesome!

My oldest sister's husband had his pilots license, and she learned to fly as well. The hands-down scariest flight I ever went on was the time she took our mother and me with her on a short trip to practice touch-and-goes at a small airport away from the city.

I have regularly flown commercial flights since early childhood. I am not afraid of flying. What scared me to death was knowing it was my sister at the controls!

Full props to her, she handled a tricky wind-shift when we arrived back at the big regional airport very well. But still. My sister...

I was very proud of her. Proud of you, too! May you enjoy many safe and happy air miles!

The fact that people just decide to go learn to fly around in something that travels thousands of feet up in the air at hundreds of miles an hour is just amazing. The thought of having people in a plane that I'm flying and I can't just pull over on the side of the road if there's an issue fills me with paralyzing fear.

Congrats on the solo, you're a fucking baller!

Did they cut the back of your shirt out?

Before anyone over reacts, it's a long-standing pilot tradition after your first solo. It goes all the way back to the tandem, open cockpit days. Undershirts are worn to avoid embarrassing incidents.
