The guy worked for the same company as my dad (Oracle) and was on the same business trip that my dad has done hundreds of times. Love the people close to you every chance you get.
For as shitty as a company as they are, they do an exemplary job of honoring him year after year, and have heard they have helped make sure his kids are set up to afford school and all of that. Guy is the definition of a hero
Until recently I lived only a few blocks from Todd Beamer Park in Fresno CA. I lived there at the time of his heroic act, and watched the park being built a few years after 9/11. It’s used heavily by the local community and includes a dog park, basket ball court, sports field and skate park. If I recall correctly he lived in Fresno at one point in his life and Fresno hasn’t forgotten.
But your dad mentioning you in his last moments and then devising a plan to limit the damage on one of the worst days in American history must make you so proud. What a hero.

It sucks to grow up without a father.
