I did this route riding from Utah back to Oregon some years ago. This picture absolutely captures the experience. Up one side of the hill, down the other, across the valley. Repeat. If there is even a single cow in the valley, you can see it from 20 miles away because there isn't a god damn other thing there. 100 miles between water/food stops. Had to make coffee in culverts that went under the road because it was the only wind-free spot for the stove to work. A++ highly recommended!
