I worked at a hotel that has a 4 diamond rating, and the restaurant i worked in there was a fine dining setting. It was fancy as fuck, won awards, great chefs, and widely known in the area.
$14/hr and no tips for the cooks, and little to no chance for advancement in the ranks, and still had to pay for parking.
Who would keep showing up? Also forgot to mention the part where servers would make like 400 a night in tips, while making more than minimum wage.
Ok I get that everyone is pissed about minimum wage right now. BUT THE MAIN MESSAGE OF THIS SIGN STILL HOLDS VALIDITY. Stop being assholes to the ones who CAN'T even walk away from an underpaying job because something is more than ZERO DOLLARS AN HOUR that they'd get if they literally just stopped showing up. Especially now that unemployment is so hard to get.
