Good on you man. We have three rescues. Our first is a Plott Hound (NC State dog...a dog bred to hunt black bear in the NC mountains) and we were his 4th forever home not counting the foster homes. People didn't know how to handle a high energy high strung working dog. He was crazy when we got him. A year later with good structure and a family that worked with him and he was a much better dog. Now he's fantastic..he's my best friend. He has a bit of baggage but nothing aggressive. But you can tell he appreciates his life.

EDIT: Thank you kind stranger. Adopt dogs people. They know they got saved. My mother rescued over 30 dogs after she retired. She has 100 acres of land and took care of dogs that others couldn't adopt. They knew.
