I wanted to update you all. I remember sharing a photo with me and my birth father in 2020 right here in r/pics. I recently went back to Russia.

I in fact lived in Russia this year for six months. I just got back in early August. I was documenting my life there, visiting both my birth father (Saint Petersburg) and mother (Rybinsk) and helping others adopted with their birth families.

I left Russia when I was two years old to my beautiful New Zealand family who adopted me from Arkhangelsk in 1994. I have been back to Russia several times, connecting with my Russian birth family who also have contact with my New Zealand family. I first met my birth family in 2013 when I was 21. I will always have that connection with my Russian side while being proud to have been raised in New Zealand. Thank you for supporting and following my journey. Thank you to this beautiful community!

That's incredible! Hope you are able to build a bond with him; you resemble him quite a bit

I never knew I had a brother. My dad worked at a resort 1 summer and ended up getting his summer fling pregnant. They were in their mid teens. I found my half brother 10 years ago and we are scary in the way we are the same. We even went to the same college across the country together without knowing he was my brother!
