Enjoy this part of the journey . Independent film making is a lot of fun. If/when you move on to bigger productions, it will become more of a "job" and less of an adventure.
My advice: Never run for anyone (maybe a little if it was your fuck up)
They ALWAYS have the money.
Be mindful of safe working conditions (including long hours!) I have fallen asleep on the freeway after some stupid hours.
You are NOT part of a "team" you are an employee hired to do a job. (Unless you are getting points in the back end then yay team!)
If you can't rig it right, at least make it safe, no shot is worth hurting or killing somebody.
