Lol born in the same year and got the vaccine on the same day.. except I wasn't waiting for the FDA approval, over 18s could only start getting vaccinated on friday in my country.
This gives me hope because I felt so many were just using the FDA approval as an excuse. Many probably were, but good on you for being a man of your word!
According to the FDA website the average size of groups required for testing (and approval) of new drugs is:
Phase 1 - between 20 and 80 subjects.
Phase 2 - between 100-300 subjects.
Phase 3 - between 1,000-3,000 subjects
The Pfizer tests were conducted over a year ago, using 43,000 test subjects.
*NOTE: There is also a "Phase 4" - which monitors safety and efficacy of an approved drug after release to the general public. We are currently at ~4 billion doses worldwide, with no substantial problems found.
