It's probably not fake, just a long exposure. Volcanic eruptions cause a lot of lightning just as thunderstorms do.

Eruption Calbuco Volcano. Witnessing the eruption of a volcano for some can be scary and I understand it, but for me it is the greatest image of the power of nature ... the power of creation. I have been able to be and portray several eruptions in my country and they have been episodes in my life really extraordinary but understanding at the same time that when they affect people it is still a fact in the same dramatic way. I do not recommend anyone taking pictures of volcanoes or approaching them while they are erupting.
