Was cool that Assange was so anti-authoritarian until he because a Russian State media puppet (he even had his own show on RT on hacking). I get that the US and western nations had him holed up in an embassy so he took the vindictive route, but he lost all his credibility when he became Putin's pet. Overall its a sad tale of someone with clear noteworthy ethical pursuits getting spun around so much he lost all his bearings.

Fun fact: one of the main arguments against assange was, that he endangered the collaborators and helpers (despite censoring the names).

The helpers that are now mostly left back to fight on their own.

I worked as an researcher around the time of wikileaks and had to dig through thousands of leaked pages and I must say - regardless of opinion on Asange, the shit I saw in that period was truly horrifying and at least some of it proved real
