KABUL, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Two Taliban officials told Reuters on Sunday there would be no transitional government in Afghanistan and that the group expects a complete handover of power.

President Ashraf Ghani left Afghanistan after Taliban fighters entered the capital Kabul earlier on Sunday, capping their return to power two decades after being forced out by U.S.-led forces.

The government's acting interior minister, Abdul Sattar Mirzakawal, had said that power would be handed over to a transitional administration.

Every step of the Taliban offensive has been easier than anyone anticipated. Why would they feel the need to make concessions? 20 years of war and all the US and allies accomplished was providing more advanced armaments to the Taliban. They're picking up our weapons as the Afghan military folds. A lifetime of war just to abandon the Afghanis who helped us and for the corrupt government we propped up to flee. And I still think leaving was the right answer, because another decade of this wouldn't make a single difference.
