Taylor Swift Says She ‘Cried’ Watching Simone Biles at Tokyo Olympics: ‘We All Learned from You’

Taylor Swift, a famous US singer, has applauded the remarkable comeback of Simone Biles, the Olympic bronze medal winner, in a grand style on Twitter.

Besides, the famed singer did a voice-over for an NBC commercial promoting the Tokyo Summer Olympics balance beam finals to support the 24-year old Olympian after she took a temporary break from competition to deal with her mental health issues.

Taylor Swift’s tribute to Simone Biles was heartwarming

Taylor Swift narrated in a video about Simone Biles,

What do we want from our heroes? What do we expect of them? What do we need from them? What happens when they surprise us? When you have the attention of the world, everything you do takes on a bigger meaning.

It can be a heavy burden. It can be a chance to change everything. Throughout the last week, her voice has been as significant as her talents, her honesty as beautiful as the perfection that had long been her signature.

Simone Biles was overwhelmed by Swift’s gesture

In response, the US Olympic gymnast showed her love for Taylor Swift in a compelling manner. Biles tweeted,

I’m crying how special. I love you.

Taylor Swift appreciated Biles for speaking up on the importance of mental health

Apart from this, Swift also acknowledged Biles’s courage to openly express her views about the importance of mental health. The 11-time Grammy winner replied from her personal account,

I cried watching YOU. I feel so lucky to have gotten to watch you all these years, but this week was a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience. We all learned from you. Thank you.

Simone Biles had to withdraw from other Olympics Events due to ‘twisties’

As you might know, Biles withdrew from the competition, indicating she wanted to deal with her mental health issues. However, in an interview later, she revealed that she experienced the consequences of ‘twisties,’ an issue that breaks your mind and body synchronization.

As a result, she could not participate in different Olympic events earlier. Biles said,

It was something that was so out of my control; but the outcome I had, at end of the day, my mental and physical health is better than any medal. So I couldn’t be mad.

We’re not just entertainment, we’re humans. And there are things going on behind the scenes that we’re also trying to juggle with as well, on top of sports.

The story of Simone Biles highlights the importance of resilience, courage and honesty convincingly. Moreover, the Olympic bronze medal winner has also disclosed the negative impacts of mental health issues appropriately.

Just a reminder: Simone Biles pulled out because she has what is known as "the twistys" where she gets disorientation in the air. It's a mental block, like the yips but trying a routine like hers could result in serious injury. She did the best thing for her health AND team USA by pulling out.

People in this thread tripping on Simone for no damn reason. AND tripping on Taylor no reason.

Why is everyone so prude here? From what i read, Simone Biles dropped out from the finals citing mental health issues and Taylor Swift gave her a few words of appreciation, which Simone appreciated.

Holy fuck, what's everyone's beef with Taylor Swift

Edit. For people who don't care about Taylor's opinion, they sure do have a lot of them about her.
