I worked retail at the same place for 15 months. I had 3 raises for being a great employee and my pay still didn’t add up to what they were offering new hires.

Two weeks notice and out. I’ll be very careful for which corporation, if any, I ever work for again.

I was originally hired part time. Worked full time hours throughout the pandemic to help out the company. When I quit, no PTO, no vacation. I was “part time.” Fuck that company.

The “restaurants can’t find workers” narrative is getting really stale. I say this as someone who owns a restaurant and kept most of our staff through the shutdown & hasn’t had any trouble finding new hires when needed.
