Sony Aims To Sell More Than 22.6 Million PS5 In a Year Breaking The Record Set by PS1

Sony CEO has announced their ambitious sales plan for the PS5. Due to the high demand, the company is confident in selling more than 22.6 million PS5.

In a shareholders meeting, the CEO outlined their sales target for the PS5. Sony has only been able to achieve 22.6 million sales in a year with the PS1 during FY98. It was followed by the PS2 at 22 million during FY2002 while the PS4 achieved a record sales of 20 million in FY2016.

Sony is seeing unprecedented demand for their console which is making them confident in the sales target for the PS5, which is going to hit more than 22.6 million sales in a fiscal year. The company hopes to achieve this target in the fiscal year 2022.

PlayStation 5 is one of the fastest-selling consoles for Sony during. is launch year. It is currently outpacing the sales of the PS4. Sony is hoping that with the demand that they have for the PlayStation 5, they should be able to achieve 45 million sales in 2.5 years. PS4 has sold through more than 115 million units worldwide while the highest-selling Sony console was PS2 with more than 150 million sales.

I know the supply issue has sucked for many, but from their standpoint, they are selling every single console they make. Nothing is sitting on the shelf.

For this year, their target is more than 14,8 Million consoles which is the number of PS4 sold during FY2.
