Jan Blachowicz v. Jon Jones could be a reality if the latter were not emptied his light heavyweight championship. While the match would likely take place in the UFC, Blachowicz does not eliminate the possibility of trading punches in the backyard.

Blachowicz was expected to be the next light heavyweight title challenger when he finished Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night 167 in February last year. However, a few months later, Jones decided to leave the belt, forcing the UFC to oppose Blachowicz Dominick Reyes.

During his recent interaction with Fanatics View, Jan Blachowicz once again talked about his chances of sharing the octagon with Jon Jones.

“I hope he (Jon Jones) fights in this difficult category (division). And I’m still waiting for him, everywhere and anytime. I hope he stops talking to that fool and gives me what he promised me after I beat Corey Anderson, ”said Jan Blachowicz.

The 38-year-old expressed interest in moving to the heavyweight division and the challenging Jones. The Pole added jokingly that he would not mind fighting ‘Bones’ even in the yard.

“I can do it in the heavyweight division. It’s not a problem for me. I can do it with him in the backyard. I don’t care.”

Jan Blachowicz on how his fight with Glover Teixeira could play out

Jan Blachowicz also spoke about his upcoming fight with Glover Teixeira. He believes Teixeira will probably use his superior fights to tire him out. The Brazilian owns a second-degree black belt in the BJJ, and Blachowicz knows how deadly it can be on earth.

“I think he will try to knock me down. In the whole fight he will push me into the cage with his boxing skills, catch my one leg or double leg and try to lower me and finish the fight on the ground. That will surely be his game plan,” Jan Blachowicz said. .

Thinking about his own strategy, the UFC welterweight champion said he would try to keep the fight on his feet and wait for the right time to finish the competition with either a punch or a headbutt.

“My game plan will be to keep the fight on my feet. Try to knock him out in stand-up … I believe my stand-up skill is much better than his. I’ll look for a knockout, boxing or a head kick. Something like this. And I’ll be ready for his wrestling and jiu-jitsu. “

Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira are scheduled to lock the trumpets at UFC 266. The event was originally expected to take place on September 4, but the date has been moved to September 25.
