Also, the dude who discovered insulin sold the patent for $1 to a university. Jonas Salk when asked who owned the patent to his polio vaccine replied “Well, the people, I would say there is no patent. Could you patent the sun?"

Once upon a time capitalizing off the suffering of others was correctly seen as the despicable thing it is.

$30 per vial in Canada.

Sold by the same companies in the USA that charge in excess of $300.

Same insulin.

Same company.

10X the price.

And most diabetics, including myself (22F diagnosed at 3.5 years) also need to pay for test strips for their glucose meter. A few years ago a 3 month supply box of sites, tubing, and reservoirs for an insulin pump cost $50 per box for me. It is now $155 per box for the same amount of supplies, under the same insurance with no plan changes.

People, not just diabetics, should NOT have to die for something they LITERALLY cannot live without. Insulin isn't optional for us. It's not a luxury. The fact that some people have to pay $1,000 a month, a SINGLE MONTH, for insulin is absolutely disgusting.
