Indiana Jones Fedora and Harry Potter Wand Among Iconic Movie Props Being Auctioned Next Week

A treasure trove of Hollywood memorabilia is hitting the auction block at the end of June including the iconic fedora Harrison Ford wore in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” the wand Daniel Radcliffe wielded in 2010’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I,” and the Leonardo costume from 1990’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

Los Angeles- and London-based Prop Store will auction off more than 1,300 items as part of their forthcoming entertainment memorabilia live auction. Starting bids range from as little as $150 for Christian Bale’s set kit from “The Fighter,” to as much as $75,000 for the Indiana Jones fedora.

“We’ve got something for every price range from the hundreds of thousands to the low hundreds,” said Matt Truex, Marketing Manager at the Prop Store. “But the hope is that with 1,300 lots, anybody that’s a fan of these films can come and walk away with something that they love.”

Actual prices are expected to go much higher, naturally. Current estimates for the fedora range from $150,000 to $250,000. However, the same auction house sold Indy’s iconic hat from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 2018 for $425,000, with auction fees bringing the total tab to $520,000.

Prop Store was founded in 1998 by avid collector and archivist Stephen Lane, growing into an operation boasting over 25,000 combined square feet of archived props and costumes. Los Angeles-based COO Brandon Alinger heads the U.S. operation, where he has worked for 14 years. He’s widely considered an expert in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.

Alinger’s expertise will certainly come in handy for the upcoming auction. In addition to the Indiana Jones fedora, dozens of Star Wars pieces of memorabilia will be up for grabs. Among the most notable items include Anakin’s and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s bladed dueling lightsabers from “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” and Carrie Fisher’s leather-bound fifth draft script from “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.”

The auction will be held online during a three day window, from June 29th to July 1st. For a taste of some of the more iconic items hitting the auction block, check out the trailer below.
